Abraxas Vertex II
A funky triangle wrap from Åsa Tricosa’s Jubilæum Collection.
Abraxas Vertex II is worked from pointy tip to wide edge and begins with a few stitches to set up the contrasting mistake rib border. A simple hourglass pattern lends an interesting texture to the shawl which is knitted on the diagonal with increases along one edge and decreases along the border. The shawl is finished with a generous final border that flows from the mistake rib border. The pattern has both charted and written instructions. Step by step instructions guides you from cast on to bind off. Charts and photo tutorials are provided for additional guidance.
The yarn chosen for the Nordic version of Abraxas Vertex II is Håndværksgarn from Hjelholt Uldspinderi – an aranweight 100% wool blend of Gotland Pelsuld and Falkland merino with 200 m (219 yds) per 100 g. This is a very warm and beautiful yarn produced by one of Denmark’s few remaining wool mills. Hjelholt is a family-owned business, that has been producing yarn for 5 generations and more than 140 years. The wool is mainly sourced from local and Nordic producers and only the merino component is imported to add softness.
The pattern is not included in this yarn kit. You can buy the pattern in The Jubilæum eBook (or you can buy the individual pattern) in Åsa Tricosa’s Ravelry store.
