Abraxas Vertex I
A triangle wrap from Åsa Tricosa’s Jubilæum Collection
Abraxas is worked from a pointy tip to the wide edge and border. It begins with just a few stitches to set up the contrasting mistake rib border. A simple cable pattern lends an interesting texture to the shawl which is knitted on the diagonal with increases along one edge and decreases along with the other. The shawl is finished with a generous final border that flows from the mistake rib border. The pattern has both charted and written instructions. Step-by-step instructions will guide you from cast on to bind off. Charts and photo tutorials will be available via the pattern.
The pattern is not included in this yarn kit. You can buy the pattern in The Jubilæum eBook (or you can buy the individual pattern) in Åsa Tricosa’s Ravelry store.
The yarn chosen also for the Nordic version of the shawl is Pascuali Balayage – a sportweight 80% alpaca and 20% merino yarn. With 175 m (190 yds) per 50 gram. This is an exquisite luxury version of baby alpaca combined with organic merino wool. The softness and drape of the finished wrap is absolutely amazing. Balayage is a yarn developed by Melanie Berg and Pascuali, and the colours are carefully chosen to work in all possible combinations.
